Missions Take Series Over Cards with 6-3 Win

SPRINGFIELD-The Missions scored four times in the sixth inning to win the rubber game of the series in come-from-behind fashion Saturday night in front of 4,587 at Hammons Field.

San Antonio tallied all four runs with two outs and scored 12 of their 13 runs in the series with two outs.

Shortstop Jace Peterson had a pair of hits and walks each and drove in a run to lead the offense while outfielder Kyle Gaedele slugged a first inning two-run shot.

Bridger Hunt, playing in his first double-A game in his nine year pro career, collected three hits and narrowly missed hitting a homerun in his final at bat.

Starter Devin Jones walked four in five innings and was charged with three runs, though one was unearned. He picked up the win in his Missions debut while Johnny Barbato closed out his second save.

Notebook: Cory Spangenberg singled to extend his hitting streak to 18 games, dating back to the end of the 2013 regular season.
