Left-Handed Pitcher Jeremy Affeldt to Join San Jose Giants

Two-time World Series Champion pitcher Scheduled to Begin Rehab Opening Night

SAN JOSE, CA - The San Francisco Giants have announced left-handed pitcher Jeremy Affeldt is scheduled to begin a rehabilitation assignment with the San Jose Giants on Opening Night Thursday, April 10 at Municipal Stadium. Affeldt, 34, is on the 15 day disabled list, recovering from a sprained right knee.

Last season, the left-hander was 1-5 with a 3.74 ERA in 39 appearances out of the bullpen for the San Francisco Giants. Since debuting in 2002, Affeldt owns a 4.00 career ERA and a 37-42 overall record. The two-time World Series Champion is entering his sixth season with the San Francisco Giants organization.

The San Jose Giants home opener will take place at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 10 against the Bakersfield Blaze.
