Dave Myers to pilot 'Sox in 2006
Myers is best known from his days as the Seattle Mariners' third base coach on the staffs of Lou Piniella and Bob Melvin (2001-2004). Entering his 18th season in the organization as a player, coach or manager, Myers brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Everett. He has managed at every level in the minor leagues, including five seasons with the class-AAA Tacoma Rainiers (1996-2000). In 12 seasons as a minor league manager, Myers has compiled an overall mark of 732-645 (.532). He managed the 1992 Bellingham Mariners to a Northwest League championship.
Last season, Tosar served as the hitting coach for the Fort Myers Miracle (A-Minnesota). He enjoyed a minor league playing career in the Montreal Expos organization in 1993 and 1994, after signing with the New York Mets in 1991. Tosar spent four seasons at the University of Miami where he played in the College World Series in 1988 and 1989. He is the founder and director of the Hardball Baseball School in Miami, FL.
