D'Arby Myers Fractures Wrist; Forsythe Joins Roster
D'Arby Myers will be place on the disabled list due to a fractured left wrist. The RockHounds outfielder was struck by a pitch in the first inning of the first game of Tuesday's double-header in Springdale, Arkansas. Myers was hitting .324, with a home run, 5 RBI and 4 stolen bases this season. The California native led all of professional baseball witha 33 game hit streak a season ago. Myers will head to the A's extended spring facilty in Arizona to rest and rehab the injuy.
Blake Forsythe (acquired in a trade with the New York Mets earlier this week for future considerations) will join the RockHounds on Thursday. Forsythe was a third-round pick in the 2010 draft out of the University of Tennessee. The right handed hitting catcher is the brother of MLB utility man Logan Forsythe. Jesus Chavez has been reassigned to Single-A Beloit. Chavez was added when Ryan Lipkin was put on the DL last week. He had played in three games thus far for the RockHounds.
