LHP Bierman promoted to Winston-Salem

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (April 17, 2014) -- The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have promoted LHP Sean Bierman to Class A-Advaned Winston-Salem today. Bierman, who was originally scheduled to start tonight for Kannapolis, made two starts for Kannapolis this season, going 0-1 with a 7.00 ERA (7 ER/9 IP). He is the first Intimidator to earn a promotion to Winston-Salem this season.

In a corresponding move, Kannapolis receives RHP Matt Abramson from Extended Spring Training. Abramson, the White Sox 29th round draft pick in the June 2013 First-Year Player Draft, made his professional debut last season with Advanced Rookie Great Falls, going 1-1 with a 4.22 ERA (15 ER/32 IP) over 18 appearances with the Voyagers. While at the University of Tampa, Abramson threw a school record 33.2 consecutive scoreless innings to start his senior season.  

His uniform number will be assigned on Friday.
