Spartanburg District 5 Rebel Nation Night on Wednesday

Celebration begins prior to Drive game at 4 PM and concludes with Byrnes-Wade Hampton game at 7 PM

The Greenville Drive will play host to Spartanburg District 5 Rebel Nation Night on Wednesday, April 23rd at Fluor Field. Representatives from all 12 district schools will be on hand to join in on the festivities, which begin prior to the Drive's 4:05 game against the Asheville Tourists and concludes with the Byrnes-Wade Hampton game following the Drive.

This is the third season the D5 Rebels have taken center stage at Fluor Field. The fun starts with a pregame Parade of Champions celebrating the decorated athletic teams of District 5, and other D5 members will be honored with special pregame roles, including throwing the ceremonial first pitch, the "Play Ball" announcer, honorary captains and bat boys. In addition, the Byrnes Singers will perform the National Anthem.

During the Drive game, the D5 Teachers, Support Employees and Terrific Kids of the Year will be recognized on DriveVision, and faculty, students and staff will participate in the in-game entertainment.

The fun continues after the Drive game concludes, as the Byrnes High School Rebels will face off against the Wade Hampton High School Generals in high school baseball action, where more D5 faculty and students will be recognized. This marks the first time that a high school game will be played at Fluor Field following a Drive game.

"Spartanburg District 5 Rebel Nation Night at Fluor Field is a great example of how the Drive and its community partners are working together to promote, celebrate and sustain the quality of life advantages we enjoy here in the Upstate," said Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. "The Drive and District 5 share a number of important values and key commitments, and we are delighted to showcase their success at Fluor Field on Wednesday."

Tickets for Rebel Nation Night at Fluor Field are still available and can be purchased by calling the Drive Box Office at (864) 240- 4528. Participating D5 families, school personnel and teams will find game information on the Spartanburg District 5 and D5 Rebels websites.
