Drafted: By the New York Yankees in the 5th round (169th overall) in 1997

Randy Choate played two seasons in a Tampa Yankee uniform. In 1998 Randy was a starting pitcher and posted a 1-8 record with a 5.27 ERA in 13 games started. In 1999 Choate was converted to a reliever. He appeared in 47 games that year for the Yanks and had a 4.50 ERA with 62 strikeouts.

Today Choate is still in Tampa, but now he is in the big leagues playing for the Tampa Rays. Randy is one of the teams top relievers this year with a 3.72 ERA. He has pitched in 51 games but only 29 innings while striking out 21 batters.
