OYO Giveaways Changed, Start Saturday

The Peoria Chiefs have announced a change in plans with the OYO Sports Toys giveaway scheduled for this season. Due to unforeseen issues the OYO giveaways have been changed and now will feature four Chiefs and Cardinals prospects.

      The first of four OYO Sports Toys will feature current Chiefs catcher Carson Kelly and will be given to the first 1000 fans on Saturday, April 26 which is Hockey Night. In his first season as a catcher, the 2012 second round pick is ranked by MLB.com, Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus as a top 15 Cardinals prospect.

     The first 1000 fans on Saturday, May 17 will get an OYO featuring 19-year-old prospect pitcher Alex Reyes. A 2012 signee out of the Dominican Republic, Reyes is ranked in the top 10 by all three prospect sites and ranked #98 in all of Minor League Baseball by Baseball Prospectus.

     The third OYO giveaway will feature center fielder C.J. McElroy Jr on June 29. McElroy was a third round pick in 2011 and is ranked by Baseball America as the Cardinals #24 prospect.

    The final OYO giveaway on August 10 will feature a yet to be named Chiefs player and could even include a player not yet on the Chiefs. This final OYO could be a player on the roster now, a player still in Extended Spring Training or a 2014 June Cardinals draftee who joins the Chiefs for the second half of the season. The final OYO selection will be announced in July.
