BC Powder Hitter of the Week: Curt Casali

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Biscuits' backstop, Curt Casali has been selected as the BC Powder Hitter of the Week.

Casali had his best week of the season batting .563 - which led the Southern League in that week's span - with a .682 on-base percentage. The catcher crushed one home run and drove in six runs to lead the Biscuits. The former Vanderbilt standout leads the league in on-base percentage (.506) and is third in walks (19).

The Detroit Tigers drafted Casali out of Vanderbilt in the tenth round. After spending two season in the Tigers system, Casali came to the Rays in a trade that send left-hander Kyle Lobstein to the Tigers last year.
