Dan Winkler named Texas League Pitcher of the Week

Tulsa starter Dan Winkler was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 21-27. Pitching awards are nothing new to Winkler, who most recently was named the 2013 California League Pitcher of the Year.

His April 22^nd performance, in which he threw a one-hit complete game shutout against the Naturals, earned him the award. Winkler struck out 10 in his shutout, which was the first game of a double header.

As of April 29, Winkler leads the Texas League in ERA (0.90), WHIP (0.73) and strikeouts (33).  

First baseman Jonathan Rodriguez of the Springfield Cardinals was named the April 21-27 Texas League Player of the Week.
