Reds beat reporter Mark Sheldon is reporting at Reds.com that Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman is tentatively scheduled to pitch for the Dayton Dragons on an injury rehabiliation assignment on Thursday, May 1 at Fifth Third Field.

Sheldon reports that Chapman threw 25 pitches today in a live batting practice session. Chapman was struck in the face by a line drive on March 19 in a spring training game vs. Kansas City.
Chapman has recorded 38 saves in each of the past two seasons for the Reds and pitched in the All-Star Game both seasons. He would become the 27th Reds player to play for the Dragons on an injury rehab assignment. Johnny Cueto and Ryan Ludwick played for the Dragons in 2013. Others in past seasons to rehab with the Dragons included Joey Votto, Drew Stubbs, and Homer Bailey among others.
