National Spelling Bee Competitor, Jae Canetti of Fairfax, to be in Attendance at Pfitzner Stadium on Tuesday, May 6th
Woodbridge, VA-The Potomac Nationals are excited to welcome 2014 Scripps National Spelling Bee competitor, Jae Canetti of nearby Fairfax, Virginia to Pfitzner Stadium, home of the P-Nats, on Tuesday, May 6th.
As the Nationals host their regional-rival, Frederick Keys (Baltimore Orioles) at 7:05pm, Canetti will enjoy the P-Nats VIP treatment at The Pfitz which will include complimentary seats behind home plate and a meet-and-greet with Potomac Nationals players and coaching staff.
In preparation for Canetti's chase to win "The Bee" to become the 2014 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion, ESPN, The Worldwide Leader in Sports, is sending videographers to Pfitzner Stadium to capture Jae's enjoyment of the Potomac Nationals game and his building excitement in advance of the national spelling bee competition which begins with preliminaries on Tuesday, May 27th.
P-Nats fans will have the unique opportunity to support one of our community's most brightest young minds leading up to his pursuit of the 2014 Scripps National Spelling Bee title while also possible ending up on national television for the price of just $2.

Footage from Pfitzner Stadium could be incorporated in ESPN's coverage of Jae Canetti contending at the annual spelling competition to be held inside the Maryland Ballroom at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland on Wednesday, May 28th and Thursday, May 29th.
The 2014 Scripps Nationals Spelling Bee Semifinals start Thursday, May 29th at 10:00am and will be televised live nationally on ESPN2 and the Championship Rounds will also air live Thursday, May 29th at 8:00pm on ESPN.
Canetti, 12, a sixth-grader who attends Hunters Woods Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences in Reston, Virginia, has previously competed in the 2012 and 2013 Scripps National Spelling Bees, and tied for 22nd place in 2012.
Canetti will compete with 280 other spellers on the official 2014 Speller Roster and is one of 14 spellers from the state of Virginia.
Jae Canetti excels in math and loves competing in the Spelling Bee because of the camaraderie with the other spellers. He also loves baseball and plays in the Fairfax Little League. He collects baseball caps, and has amassed more than 70 in his collection.
Ironically, the word "sabermetrics," the statistical study of baseball, was one of his words in two of the last five county spelling bees. Jae and his dad love going to Minor League Baseball games when they travel, and he is a self-proclaimed "huge" Potomac Nationals fan. Jae has also visited the hallowed National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
