May 5, 2014

The International League announced today that Bisons OF KEVIN PILLAR has been named the league's Batter of the Week for the period from April 28-May 4. This marks the first weekly award this season for the Bisons.

PILLAR led the International League last week with a .444 batting average, 12 hits, and nine RBI to lead the Bisons to a perfect 6‐0 week. He went 4‐for-4 with four RBI in Monday's 17‐5 thrashing of Louisville. In a scoreless extra‐innings affair on Friday night, Pillar singled to lead off the 11th and came around to score the winning run against Charlotte. He delivered another walk‐off win on Saturday when he tripled home two runs in the 9th for a 6‐5 Bisons triumph over the Knights.

Pillar now owns the ILʹs longest hitting streak of the season at 16 and counting. Since April 17, he has averaged .385 (25-65) with seven doubles, a triple, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored.
