Knights To Be Featured on CBS Sports Network on Thursday, May 8
(Uptown Charlotte, NC) - Fans looking to catch a Charlotte Knights game on television this season can do so by watching CBS Sports Network on Thursday, May 8th as the 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports will air the Charlotte Knights against Lehigh Valley IronPigs game scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at BB&T Ballpark. The game, which will be broadcast live to a national audience from the Queen City, will be the second to air in Minor League Baseball's "Game of the Week" series this season.
CBS Sports Network and Minor League Baseball recently reached an agreement to televise 15 games throughout the course of the 2014 season. Coverage began on Thursday, May 1 (7:05 PM, ET) when the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, faced the Pawtucket Red Sox, the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, R.I. The Network is available across the country through local cable, video and telco providers including Verizon FiOS Channel 94 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 643 (1643 in HD) and via satellite on DirecTV Channel 221 and Dish Network Channel 158. Each week's matchup will be anchored by three-time Kentucky Sportscaster of the year, Dick Gabriel, and former Major League Baseball player Doug Flynn, a two-time World Series Champion with the Cincinnati Reds and Gold Glove winner with the New York Mets.
