Grant Green Named Angels Minor League Offensive Player of the Month
SALT LAKE CITY (May 7, 2014) - The Los Angeles Angels announced today that the club has named former Salt Lake infielder Grant Green the Angels Minor League Offensive Player of the Month for April.
Green started the 2014 season with the Bees, hitting .365 with 28 RBIs and a .941 OPS over 25 games in the month of April. Despite being called up by the Angels on May 2, Green still ranks second the Pacific Coast League in RBIs. Since his call up, the former first round pick out of the University of Southern California has hit .300 and earned two starts for the Halos, both playing left field.
The Bees continue their eight-game home stand on Wednesday with game two of a four-game series with the Las Vegas 51s at Smith's Ballpark. On Friday, May 9th in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the franchise, the team will give away a trip to see the Angels play in Anaheim later this season. More information about the giveaway and tickets for all Salt Lake Bees home games are available with no online fees at slbees.com.
