Guerrero Drives In Six As Isotopes Win 12-7 Against River Cats
NEED TO KNOW: Alex Guerrero drove in six runs and Joc Pederson scored five as the Albuquerque Isotopes (17-17) cruised to a 12-7 win against the Sacramento River Cats (16-18) Thursday night at Isotopes Park.
THE TURNING POINT: With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the first, Guerrero singled home the first two runs of the game in Walter Ibarra and Pederson. It would be all the Isotopes scored in the first, but it ignited them to a five-run second and three-run fourth as Albuquerque led 10-4 through three innings.
GO-GO-GUERRERO: Guerrero turned in a 4-for-5 night with six RBI against the River Cats. It was his first-career four-hit game and seventh multiple-hit game of the year. The six RBI are the most by an Isotopes player since Justin Sellers drove in six July 9, 2013. Through three games against Sacramento, Guerrero is 7-for-13 with two runs scored, one home run and seven RBI.
JOC BE NIMBLE, JOC BE QUICK: Pederson finished the night 2-for-3 with an Isotopes record five runs scored. He also had three walks and one RBI. In the sixth inning, Pederson homered for the second time in as many days.
WALLY WORLD KEEPS GOING ROUND: Ibarra reached base and scored three times in the first three innings by way of two singles and a walk. He is currently 5-for-13 with seven runs scored, two home runs and four RBI against Sacramento so far this season.
BELOW .500 NOT FOR TOPES: The Isotopes have fallen below .500 just four times this year but have won the next game to climb back to .500 each occasion. After losing the season opener, Albuquerque beat Tacoma 6-3 to pull to 1-1. After falling to 5-6, the Topes beat El Paso to even their record at six wins and six losses. Just this series, the Isotopes beat Sacramento to even their record at 16-16 Tuesday night, and their win tonight puts them at 17-17.

ON DECK: Albuquerque and Sacramento will play the final game of their four-game set and the last game of the Isotopes' season-longest 12 game homestand Friday night at 7:05 p.m. The Topes will send right-hander Henry Sosa (1-1, 2.25 ERA) to the hill and the River Cats will counter with righty Zach Neal (1-1, 4.68 ERA).
IN THE HOLE: After an extra-long homestand, the Isotopes will embark on a 12-game, 13-day road trip that encompasses the Topes first trip to El Paso for a four-game set with the Chihuahuas. After that, Albuquerque moves onto a four-game series at the Fresno Grizzlies and at the Salt Lake Bees.
