May 16, 2014

AUBURN, NY - The Auburn Doubledays of the New York-Penn League, Single-A Short-Season affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce that all 38 Doubledays road games in the 2014 regular season will be broadcast live on 98.1 FM and 1590 AM WAUB as part of a partnership with the Finger Lakes Radio Group. Current Syracuse University senior Evan Weston will provide the play-by-play on each broadcast.

The Doubledays' broadcast schedule features a jam-packed road slate for 2014, including at least two series against each of the team's five Pinckney Division rivals. The Doubledays also travel to face the Connecticut Tigers and Aberdeen Ironbirds from July 9-14 and the Brooklyn Cyclones and Staten Island Yankees from July 30-August 4. The first broadcast will take place on June 14, 2014, when the Doubledays visit the Batavia Muckdogs.

A senior at Syracuse University, Weston brings four prior years of broadcasting experience to the Doubledays and WAUB. Originally from Princeton, New Jersey, Weston has announced Syracuse Orange football, men's basketball, and men's lacrosse games on WAER in Syracuse, along with Le Moyne college baseball and Section 3 New York high school football. He is set to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast and Digital Journalism in May 2015.

"We're very excited to continue our partnership with the Finger Lakes Radio Group, the premier radio network in the community," said General Manager Mike Voutsinas. "Evan is an excellent addition to our staff. His background broadcasting games in Central New York makes him a great fit for our organization."

WAUB will carry each road game on both its FM and AM channels. A live stream of the games will also be available through auburndoubledays.com, the MiLB First Pitch app, the WAUB app, fingerlakesdailynews.com, TuneIn.com or the TuneIn app.

"This is what local radio is all about. We're proud to be associated with the Auburn Doubledays, and to be broadcasting all road games to our listeners this season." said Finger Lakes Radio Group Vice President of Sales Frank Lischak. "In addition, WAUB news anchor Joe Salzone will be hosting several interviews with General Manager Mike Voutsinas and Manager Gary Cathcart weekday mornings throughout the season."

The partnership between the Doubledays and Finger Lakes Radio Group extends beyond the broadcast and into the community. More details will be announced in the near future.

The Doubledays open the 2014 season against the Batavia Muckdogs at Leo Pinckney Field at Falcon Park on Friday, June 13.
