Baysox Host NFL Players, Wounded Warriors Charity Softball Game

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox are hosting the second annual MCOP Charity Softball Classic Saturday, June 7 at Prince George's Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m. The event, which is presented by Medical Center Orthotics & Prosthetics, will pit NFL Celebrities against the Wound Warrior Amputee Softball team.

NFL players scheduled to appear include: Michael Vick (NY Jets), Jermichael Finley (Green Bay Packers), EJ Biggers (Washington Redskins), Brian Mitchell (Washington Redskins), Josh Cribbs (NY Jets), Tyrod Taylor (Baltimore Ravens), Josh Morgan (Chicago Bears), Brandon Meriweather (Washington Redskins) and more. 

During the first annual event in 2013, more than $30,000 was raised for various Veteran's amputee charities. This season, Medical Center Orthotics & Prosthetics, along with other event organizers, have set a goal of raising $50,000 for designated charities.

There are two ticket options for the game. VIP Tickets (including early entrance for an exclusive autograph session) are $99 and General Admission Tickets are $20 ($15 for active or retired military). Tickets can be ordered online at www.baysox.com. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for the special VIP meet & greet session and 6:00 p.m. for all other ticket holders.

Proceeds from the event benefit The Yellow Ribbon Fund, the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team, Connected Warrior Foundation and Disabled Sports USA.
