DELAWARE SPORTS COMMISSION KICKOFF

Governor Markell to Deliver the First "Pitch" at Frawley Stadium

Wilmington, DE - On Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, the Delaware Sports Commission and Governor Jack Markell will deliver the first "pitch" to recruit regional, national, and international sporting events to Delaware. This event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Frawley Stadium, 801 Shipyard Drive, Wilmington, DE 19801.

The Delaware Sports Commission is comprised of prominent regional sports and tourism industry leaders. Remarks will be delivered by several guest speakers. The event will conclude with Governor Markell addressing the crowd and throwing the first pitch from the pitcher's mound at Frawley Stadium. This initiative was developed to attract tourists to the First State through sporting events and is one of many initiatives in progress to promote the tourism industry in Delaware.
