Suns to take on Marlins

Preseason exhibition game set for April 2, 2010
October 29, 2009
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In a press conference Wednesday afternoon, the Jacksonville Suns announced that they will host a Major League exhibition game featuring the Florida Marlins before the 2010 regular season. The 2009 Southern League Champion Jacksonville Suns will take on the Florida Marlins in a special pre-season exhibition matchup at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 7:05PM.

Last season, the Suns were an integral part of the Marlins' player development system. A number of Suns made the jump to the Marlins roster over the course of the 2009 season, including Marlins starter Sean West. The Suns were also proud to host several Major League rehabilitation assignments, including Marlins closer Matt Lindstrom and starters Anibal Sanchez and Andrew Miller.

Tickets for the exhibition game will go on sale Thursday, October 29 at 9:00AM through the Suns box office and online at www.jaxsuns.com. Dugout Box seats will be $32.50, Homeplate Box seats will be $24.50, Reserved seats will be $18.50 and General Admission tickets will be $12.50. Tickets are expected to be in high demand, based on the success of the team's last Major League exhibition game with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2006.

Season tickets for the 2010 Suns regular season are also currently on sale through the Suns Box Office at (904) 358-2846, or online at www.jaxsuns.com. Tickets plans begin at $100 per seat. Sponsorships and group packages are also available. The 2010 season is presented by Everbank, official banking partner of the Jacksonville Suns. The Suns are the reigning 2009 Southern League Champions and the Double-A Affiliate of the Florida Marlins.
