Spikes celebrates birthday at French Rd.

Red Wings mascot Spikes celebrated his birthday with the entire French Road Elementary School on Friday, November 6th.

Spikes, who actually turned 13 on Saturday, November 7th, was joined by mascot Mittsy, and Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason.

As part of the festivities, students from French Road Elementary School sang happy birthday to Spikes, selected instrumentalists from French Road Elementary School played a “Wings Cheer song”, and Spikes was presented with birthday gifts.

The French Road Elementary School Ensembles (4th grade Chorus, 5th Chorus, Orchestra, and Red and Blue Bands) have performed the National Anthem prior to a Red Wings game at Frontier Field 11 straight seasons, and has had the largest school group at Frontier Field each of those 11 years.
