Craft Beer Saturday May 24th with Highland
The Drive and GreenCo Beverage will host their second Craft Beer Saturday of the 2014 season on Saturday, May 24th, with Highland Brewing Company from Asheville, NC. For $30, fans at least 21 years old will receive 10 beer samples, food pairings, and a ticket to the game.
The beer sampling and food pairings will take place in the Southern Tide 500 Club, from 6 PM to 7 PM.
The featured Highland Brewing Company beers will be:
St. Terese Pale Ale - a golden pale having a slightly malty body balanced by an assertive American hop flavor. This pale ale displays a delicate hop nose due to the process of dry hopping. A crisp and refreshing beer perfect for any occasion.
20th Anniversary Scotch Ale - 20 years have passed since Highland first opened its creaky basement door. Highland honors the legends of the Scots Irish, so deeply woven into the Southern Appalachians. On this special occasion, Brewmaster John Lyda gives a nod to local history again. Rich caramel and roasted notes blend with a subtle hop nose to create an ale suited for the finest occasions. Medium-bodied, it has a brown-hue from a Caramel malt and roasted barley. It is brewed with the finest traditional Scottish malts and English Fuggle hops. A late addition of Sterling hops imparts a slightly spice nose, ever so subtle.
Oatmeal Porter - A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.
