GreenJackets Beat Grasshoppers 3-2
Augusta, GA--The Augusta GreenJackets (21-23) beat the Greensboro Grasshoppers (23-20) on Monday night, at Lake Olmstead Stadium, 3-2.
Greensboro's struck early, scoring one run in the first inning. JT Riddle plated the run off back to back singles to center field.
That was the only run GreenJackets starting pitcher, Luis Ysla, gave up. Ysla (2-2) pitched seven innings, gave up five hits and struck out four.
The GreenJackets tied the game in the third inning with a run plated by John Polonius. After Polonius singled to deep shortstop, Ryder Jones advanced him on a ground out. A single by Jeremy Sy allowed Polonius to score.
The GreenJackets struck again in the seventh inning with two more runs. John Polonius singled up the middle and Rando Moreno walked. Ryder Jones doubled to left field allowing both Polonius and Moreno to score. Jones currently leads the team with 21 RBI.
Greensboro scored their final run in the eighth inning off of GreenJackets relief pitcher, Ray Black. A double to left center field by Austin Dean allowed Cody Keefer to score.
