G-Braves Add Pitcher Kameron Loe
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The Gwinnett Braves, in conjunction with the Atlanta Braves, have announced the addition of right-hander Kameron Loe to the Gwinnett 25-man roster. Loe, released by the Kansas City Royals on May 24, was signed by Atlanta as a minor league free agent. Additionally today, right-hander Mark Lamm was placed on the Gwinnett disabled list retroactive to May 24 with right shoulder tendonitis.
Loe, 32, signed as a free agent with the Royals on April 10 after spending the spring with the San Francisco Giants. In seven relief appearances with Triple-A Omaha, he combined to go 0-0 with a 4.09 ERA (5 ER in 11.0 IP) and one save.
The veteran right-hander returns to Gwinnett, where he went 4-4 with a 3.07 ERA (26 ER in 76.1 IP) in 27 games, 10 starts last season. Loe also played for three Major League clubs in 2013, going a combined 2-3 with a 7.09 ERA (21 ER in 26.2 IP) in 20 games with Seattle, the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta. He finished the season in the Majors with the Braves, going 1-2 with a 6.17 ERA (8 ER in 11.2 IP) in nine games, one start.
In a nine-year Major League career with Texas (2004-08), Milwaukee (2010-12), Seattle (2013), Chicago-NL (2013) and Atlanta (2013), Loe is 34-43 with a 4.49 ERA (284 ER in 569.0 IP) in 322 games, 48 starts. He was originally drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 20th round of the 2002 June draft out of Cal State Northridge.
Lamm, 26, went 1-3 with a 5.93 ERA (18 ER in 27.1 IP) in 16 relief appearances with the G-Braves prior to the injury.
The Gwinnett Braves play game two of a four-game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox on Tuesday night at McCoy Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Right-hander Gus Schlosser (2-1, 6.87) will start for the G-Braves, while the Red Sox will counter with right-hander Matt Barnes (1-2, 4.35).
