Mier, Epps to Visit Saratoga at Cimarron Whataburger

CORPUS CHRISTI - Hooks shortstop Jio Mier and outfielder Chris Epps will sign autographs and visit with fans between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the 6241 Saratoga at Cimarron Whataburger location Friday.

KFTX-FM has scheduled a live remote broadcast.

Mier, 23, is a Las Vegas resident who was Houston's 2009 first-round draft choice out of Bonita High School in La Verne, Calif. In 45 games this season, he's batting .243/2/20. Mier debuted in Corpus Christi last season, appearing in 104 contests.

Epps, 25, is from Stone Mountain, Ga., and played collegiately at Clemson. A 45th-round selection by Houston during the 2011 draft, Epps is in his first season at Double-A. He's homered thrice and driven in 11 runs over 19 games. Epps hit .275 with 32 doubles, five triples, 16 homers and 75 RBI's last season at High-A Lancaster of the California League.
