Intimidators to play for national TV audience

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (May 30, 2014) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, will play before a national TV audience on Thursday, June 19, when CBS Sports Network broadcasts that evenings game against the Charleston RiverDogs (New York Yankees) from Joseph P. Riley Park in Charleston, S.C.  The broadcast is part of a 15-game slate of Minor League Baseball games of the week that will air on CBS Sports Network in 2014.

The game will start at 7:05 p.m. as the Intimidators open the second half of the South Atlantic League season against the RiverDogs with the first game of a four-game series. CBS Sports Network can be found on DirecTV (channel 221), Dish Network (channel 158), as well as through various local cable providers, including Verizon FiOS (channel 94) and AT&T U-Verse (channel 643, in HD on 1643). The Intimidators are one of four White Sox affiliates to be featured on the Game of the Week broadcasts. Former Intimidators now with the Class A-Advanced Winston-Salem Dash will play at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Texas Rangers) on July 3, and Double-A Birmingham will host Huntsville on August 7 on CBS Sports Network. Earlier this month, the network carried a game between Triple-A Charlotte and Lehigh Valley on May 8. 

The Kannapolis Intimidators are in the 20th season of professional baseball in Kannapolis and the team's 14th as the Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Since the team moved to Kannapolis in 1995, 77 players that have played in Kannapolis have gone on to the Major Leagues.
