Trevor Story Named 2014 All-Star

June 4, 2014

Modesto Nuts infielder Trevor Story has been named to the 2014 California League All-Star team.

The Irving, TX native has been selected as a reserve infielder by the California League's coaches and media members. It is the second all-star selection in Story's four-year pro career. He was tabbed as a post-season all-star in the South Atlantic League in 2012.

Story has been out since May 23rd after being hit by a pitch, but is hoping to play in the 2014 all-star game. Despite missing the last 12 games, Story is tied for second in the league with six triples, ranked third in stolen bases with 18, fourth in on-base percentage with a .410 mark and seventh in the Cal League with a .323 batting average. In addition, Story hit for the cycle on April 7th against the Visalia Rawhide. As the lead-off batter, Story went 5-for-6, homering to start the game, recording two singles, clubbing a RBI double in the fourth and scampering for a triple in the seventh.

The 2014 California League / Carolina League All-Star Game will be hosted by the Carolina League's Wilmington Blue Rocks. On June 17th at 4:05 p.m. PDT, the California League all-stars will battle the Carolina League all-stars in Wilmington, DE at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium.
