Boles, 34, was selected in the 42nd round of the 1998 June draft by the Chicago Cubs. After a short professional playing career, Boles made his managerial debut for the Gulf Coast League Marlins in 2000, leading them to a title at the ripe age of 25. In his second season, Boles was promoted to Short-Season Single-A Utica before joining the Royals organization where he served as coach with the GCL Royals in 2002 and manager of the Arizona Royals in 2003. Boles managed for four seasons in the Minnesota Twins organization with Single-A Quad City in 2004, Single-A Beloit in 2005, and Advanced Single-A Fort Myers in 2006 and 2007. Boles joined the Red Sox organization in 2008 as manager of Single-A Greenville. In two seasons with the Drive, Boles compiled a 143-134 record and reached the South Atlantic League Finals in 2009. He also managed his 500th career win in 2009.
Such, 65, returns to the Salem Red Sox for his second season as pitching coach. As a right-handed pitcher, Such made 21 appearances for Manager Ted Williams' Washington Senators in 1970. Febles, who spent 6 seasons with the Kansas City Royals from 1998-2003, returns to Salem for his second season as the team's hitting coach. Brandon Henry has been announced as Athletic Trainer for the 2010 season after serving in the same capacity for Single-A Greenville in 2009.
