Missions Lose 4th Straight Game
CORPUS CHRISTI-The Missions offensive woes and losing streak continued as the Hooks handed San Antonio it's fourth straight loss Saturday night in front of 5,912 at Whataburger Field.
Nolan Fontana double off Jerry Sullivan to start the winning rally and Andrew Aplin followed with the game-winning hit.
The loss marred a great pitching effort by the San Antonio bullpen, which had worked seven scoreless innings of one-hit ball with 12 strikeouts entering the final frame.
San Antonio scored both its runs in the fifth on a solo homer by Austin Hedges and an rbi single by Bridger Hunt.
Notebook: The Missions fell back into last place in the South Division…San Antonio has scored just nine runs thru the first five games of the road trip and have scored only twice over the last 25 innings
Next Up: Sunday Missions LH Juan Oramas (1-0, 0.00) at Corpus Christi LH Tommy Shirley (5-2, 1.51) 6:10 PM
