Bats host Homer Bailey bobblehead giveaway, Dog Day
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Homer Bailey bobbleheads will be given to the first 3,000 paid admissions to the Louisville Bats' game on Saturday, June 14 at Louisville Slugger Field. First pitch for the game against the Gwinnett Braves is slated for 6:05 p.m. and gates will open at 5 p.m.
The Bats will host four total bobblehead giveaways this season at Louisville Slugger Field. Saturday's giveaway will be followed by Jay Bruce bobbleheads on Wednesday, July 2; Joey Votto bobbleheads on Saturday, August 2; and Johnny Cueto bobbleheads on Saturday, August 30.
The homestand opens with a Peanut Allergy Awareness Night on Wednesday, June 11. No peanuts or peanut-based products will be sold or allowed to be brought into the ballpark during this game. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6 p.m. The Bats' second Peanut Allergy Awareness Night will be Friday, August 15.
The Wounded Warriors Kids Camp All-Star Game will be Friday, June 13 from 5:10-6:40 p.m. and feature amputee children from around the country in a softball game on the Bats' playing field to finish their weeklong camp. The children will be coached by the Wounded Warriors. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the night also serves as Southern Indiana Night and fireworks will follow the game.
The Bats will host their second and final Dog Day of the season on Tuesday, June 17 and give away dog leashes to the first 1,000 dog owners. First pitch on Dog Day against the Durham Bulls is at 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets for dog owners are $7 and dogs may enter the ballpark at the Witherspoon or Jackson street entrances with a $3 donation to the Kentucky Humane Society.
The team closes out its homestand with a day game on Wednesday, June 18 at 11:45 a.m.
The Bats (32-33) finish their road trip Tuesday afternoon in Pawtucket before traveling home and welcoming Gwinnett (Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves) and Durham (Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) to Louisville Slugger Field for four games apiece.
The Bats have averaged 8,979 fans per game at Louisville Slugger Field since its opening in 2000 and have totaled over 8.8 million fans through 14 seasons.
