Rain Forces Cancellation Of Wilmington's Series Finale With Winston-Salem

Blue Rocks Have Been Rained Out Seven Times In First Half
June 11, 2014

Winston-Salem, NC - Wednesday night's game between the Wilmington Blue Rocks and the Winston-Salem Dash has been cancelled due to rain. Because it was the final scheduled meeting between the two clubs in the first half, the contest will not be made up. It is the Blue Rocks' seventh rainout of the season and the team's second cancellation.

The Rocks return to action Thursday night against the Carolina Mudcats as they head home to Frawley Stadium for the final series of the first half. Right-hander Christian Binford (3-3, 2.39), who was originally scheduled to pitch Wednesday, will make his 12th start of the season for the Blue Crew. Righty Cole Sulser (2-5, 4.35) is slated to take the mound for the Mudcats. First pitch for the series opener is slated for 7:05 p.m., and fans can listen to the broadcast on 89.7 WGLS-FM.
