Fontenot, Figueroa Lead Bulls Past Indy In 10, 2-1

Durham Ties Game In 9th; Earns 1st Win In Series

Indianapolis, IN --- Cole Figueroa doubled home Ali Solis with the winning run in the 10th inning as the Durham Bulls rallied past the Indianapolis Indians 2-1 at Victory Field on Friday night.

The Bulls (41-29) were staring at their third straight loss to the Indians (40-28), trailing 1-0 in the ninth before Mike Fontenot drove a tying single to center to score Jayson Nix with one out.

In the 10th, Ali Solis, playing in his first game since being optioned down from Tampa Bay on Wednesday, singled to start the inning. After a sacrifice, Nix one-hopped single off of Robert Andino's backhand attempt at shortstop, moving Solis to third. Figueroa then followed with a double blasted agianst the right field wall to put Durham ahead 2-1.

Jeff Beliveau (S, 9) then pitched a perfect 10th to earn the save.

Merrill Kelly allowed one unearned run over six innings, fanning six in the start. Nick Kingham worked seven scoreless in his Triple-A debut.

The Bulls went through six pitchers in the victory, which allowed the Bulls to maintain a 5 1/2 game lead in the South over second place Gwinnett.

The series concludes Saturday night at 7:05 PM ET with Mike Montgomery (7-1, 3.36) starting against Jay Jackson (4-1, 4.53).
