8 Bears invited to D-backs Big League Spring Training

The Arizona Diamondbacks released their official list of non-roster invitees for Spring Training and included on that list were eight Bears alumni.

The Bears pitching alumni that have been invited to the Big League Spring Training camp include right-handers Barry Enright (2007), Wes Roemer (2007), Kyler Newby (2005), and Matt Torra (2005). Catcher Konrad Schmidt (2007) will be joining the pitchers on February 19 for the D-backs' final Spring Training in Tucson, Arizona.

Outfielders Collin Cowgill (2008) and Evan Frey (2007), and infielder Mark Hallberg (2007), will report to Tucson on February 23 with the first full-squad workout of the spring taking place on February 24.
