More than 5,500 parking spaces available around ONEOK Field

February 3, 2010
For the Tulsa Drillers opening game on April 8 at the new ONEOK Field, parking will no doubt be a priority for fans. Recent parking data provided by the City of Tulsa confirms there will be ample parking for everyone, with more than 3,500 spaces within a five-minute walk and 2,000 additional spaces within 10 minutes of the stadium.

"Parking will not be an issue for our fans, with more than 5,500 parking spaces located within a 5 to 10 minute walk from the ballpark," said Drillers President Chuck Lamson. "In addition to the 5,500 spaces in parking lots and garages, there are numerous street-side metered parking spaces available for free after 5 p.m."

The majority of the spaces are located in the Greenwood, Brady Village and East Village districts of downtown Tulsa. In addition, there will be approximately 2,000 spaces available at OSU-Tulsa on Friday through Sunday.

As fans head to ONEOK Field, they will notice numerous streetscape improvements to the main arteries surrounding the ballpark including Elgin, Archer and Greenwood. Curbs and repaving will be completed by the first week of February, while landscaping and sidewalks are scheduled to be completed by April.

"Much needed updates to these streets are going well," said Manhattan Construction Company Project Executive Bob Jack. "The ballpark construction is also on schedule and within budget."

The scoreboard installation is completed, and the interior is currently in the final stages, including carpet and painting. Ballpark signage will begin in early February.

Fans who want to attend the first games at ONEOK field can purchase tickets to the first six games at www.tulsadrillers.com. Full season suites are sold out, but a limited number of club seats and nightly suites are available. Also, there are many great season ticket packages.
