Walking Dead's "Oscar" to Join Curve for Zombie Night on July 10
CURVE, Pa. - Peoples Natural Gas Field will become a home for the undead on Thursday, July 10 with the Erie SeaWolves visit Curve, Pa. as the Curve are set to pay tribute to the show The Walking Dead with Zombie Night in Curve, Pa.
To properly celebrate the un-dead greatness of the show with the living, the Curve are pleased to welcome in Vincent M. Ward, who portrayed Oscar on the Walking Dead during season three. Ward's character, who was one of the prisoners who survived the zombie apocalypse and was found in the cafeteria inside the prison by Rick, first appeared in the episode "Seed" and appeared in seven episodes during that season.
Ward has also appeared in the films Traffic (2000), Ocean's Eleven (2001) and Bringing Down the House (2003).
To help theme out the evening, the Curve will be wearing special Zombie apocalypse-inspired jerseys that night that will be auctioned off with proceeds benefitting the American Red Cross (let's face it during a Zombie Apocalypse the blood banks are going to need some blood).
We're also encouraging fans to help us theme out the night and come dressed up in your best zombie-inspired garb. If you do, you'll not only get a free general admission ticket to the game but you'll also get to take part in our "Walking Dead" storming of the field during a mid-inning break. That's right, all fans dressed in zombie garb will get to rush the field in between one of the innings during the game.
"The zombie phenomenon has taken the country by storm and 'The Walking Dead' series has been the driving force," said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "Several former Curve and current Pirates' players like Tony Watson, Justin Wilson, Jeff Locke, and Jordy Mercer are really into the show, so we thought this would be a fun theme-night for our current players to get into with our fans. To add a charitable jersey auction element for the local chapter of the American Red Cross makes it even better."
Fans should be sure to stop by the concession stands that night for some zombie-inspired food items in addition to the Thirsty Thursday specials that will be in effect for the night to help replenish peoples fluids during a zombie apocalypse ($2 16oz. Miller Lite drafts & $2 regular sodas) thanks to Rocky 104.9. The night will also have additional themed elements like zombie-inspired headshots of Curve players on the video board.
The Curve are currently out on a an 11-game, nine-day road trip and return home to Peoples Natural Gas Field on Thursday, June 26 to welcome in the Binghamton Mets as well as Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito thanks to Atlantic Broadband and Peoples.
