Loons, MidMichigan Health Announce Tigers Legends Series

Games Planned in 2010 to Honor Tigers Greats
February 4, 2010

The Great Lakes Loons, in partnership with MidMichigan Health, are pleased to announce the Tigers Legends Series-a continuation of 2009's successful Tigers Championship Celebration series. In addition, the Loons introduced a Tigers Legends ticket package that includes all six Loons home games paying tribute to former Tigers greats.

On every Thursday home game from June through the end of the 2010 season, fans can look forward to visits from three Tigers greats, as well as a series of three commemorative bobbleheads of former Tigers players that will given away as part of the promotion. Players scheduled to visit are four-time American League All-Star Willie Horton, three-time American League All-Star and 1968 World Series Most Valuable Player Mickey Lolich, as well as a repeat visit from two-time National League All-Star Darrell Evans, who previously came to Dow Diamond for the Home Run Derby during 2008's Midwest League All-Star Festivities. Names of the players to be included in the bobblehead series will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Tigers Legends ticket package is available now through the Loons' ticket office. With the package, fans will receive box seats to each of the Loons' six home games in the series, three Tigers bobblehead giveaways and the opportunity to meet the three Tigers legends visiting Dow Diamond.

"The 1984 Tigers Championship Celebration was a huge success last season and offered a unique opportunity for our fans to relive the excitement of the Tigers '84 World Series Championship," said Chris Mundhenk, Loons vice president of marketing and entertainment. "We are thrilled to be partnering with MidMichigan Health to deliver another great Tigers promotional series to our fans."

All player appearances and scheduled bobblehead nights have been confirmed but are subject to change. As part of the series, MidMichigan Health will provide fans with health and information at each of the six games.

"We are delighted to partner with the Great Lakes Loons on the Tigers series again in 2010," said Richard M. Reynolds, president of MidMichigan Health. "The events the Great Lakes Loons offer their fans are second-to-none. Events such as these reinforce our commitment to the region and how pleased we are to be the exclusive health care provider for the Great Lakes Loons."
