Holley Hot Rod Parade to Kick-Start 11 Games in 2010
Bowling Green, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods, Class A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, and Holley Performance Products have teamed up for an exciting pre-game event for the 2010 season. The Holley Hot Rod Car Show & Parade will take place before 11 games and will display some of the region's finest hot rods at Bowling Green Ballpark.
"One of the most talked-about features of our inaugural game was the classic car parade that brought the starting line-up onto the field," said Brad Taylor, Hot Rods General Manager and CEO. "These parades allow us to honor our automotive heritage by partnering with a local company who happens to be the world's leading manufacturer of actual automotive hot rod parts.
The parade series will start on Opening Day, Sunday, April 11, and continue on 10 more Saturday dates throughout the season. Before each game, 5-10 hot rod cars will be showcased around the warning track of Bowling Green Ballpark. Fans will then vote for their favorite vehicle each week, sending the winner through to the final parade on Saturday, August 28. The winner of the final showdown will be crowned the 2010 Holley Hot Rod Car Show & Parade Champion.
"Holley is very excited to team up with the Hot Rods for these Saturday night celebrations," said Bill Tichenor, Director of Marketing for the Bowling Green-based Holley. "With hundreds of employees that call South Central Kentucky home, we are proud to support the local team and bring another exciting element to the ballpark."
Classic car and hot rod owners can submit their vehicles for the first parade on April 11 by contacting Keith Hetzer with the Hot Rods at 270.901.2121 or [email protected]
Prior to each Saturday game, classic car owners can park their hot rod in front of the ball park where vehicles will be chosen to participate in future Holley parades at the ballpark. Those classic car owners that show up will also be eligible for a chance to win free Holley parts for their car each week.
Tickets for Citizens First Opening Day and other Saturday games featuring the Holley Hot Rod Car Show & Parade can be obtained by purchasing season tickets or a 2010 Mariah's Mini-Plan, available in 5, 6, 7, 10, and 20-game packs.
