Birdland Begins Here

June 19, 2014

Aberdeen, Md. - Ripken Baseball today completed installation of its "Ripken orange" outfield wall upgrade, creating a unique ballpark experience at Ripken Stadium, home to hundreds of elite youth baseball tournaments and the Aberdeen IronBirds, short-season affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.

"We designed the new outfield wall to enhance the fan experience and to create a distinct home field advantage for the new-look IronBirds," said Colin Clark, Ripken Baseball's Vice President of Brand Marketing. "Paired with the team's new Under Armour uniforms, the fresh atmosphere at Ripken Stadium further establishes Aberdeen as the place where Birdland begins and innovation lives."

The facility upgrade was completed by Promats Athletics, a leading manufacturer for protective pads in major league and college baseball for more than two decades. The project included installation of 390 pads that blends "Ripken orange" with black pads that cover the backstop wall, dugouts and batter's eye in centerfield.

The iconic Orioles black-and-orange color scheme is incorporated throughout Ripken Stadium at new hospitality areas that include the 378 Bar presented by Sam Adams, the Natty Boh Garden, and the Extra Innings Café presented by Hollywood Casino.

Fans can get their first look at the new and improved Ripken Stadium during the IronBirds home opener on Friday, June 20 at 7:35 p.m. against the Brooklyn Cyclones. Season and single game tickets are still available. For more information and to order 2014 season ticket plans, please call 410-297-9292 or visit www.IronBirdsBaseball.com.
