Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Great Lakes Loons (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) in the third game of a four-game series.

Today's Dragons Starting Pitcher: Jackson Stephens makes his first appearance of 2014 tonight. He joined the Dragons on June 19 from extended spring training after rehabilitating an elbow injury suffered in March. Stephens would have been a part of the Dragons 2014 opening day starting rotation if not for the injury. He spent the second half of 2013 with the Dragons, going 3-7, 4.59 in 14 games. Stephens was the Reds 18th round draft pick in 2012 out of Oxford (Ala.) High School, where he led his team to the Alabama 6A state title as senior in 2012.

  • Jon Matthews is batting .435 (20 for 46) in 14 games since coming off the disabled list May 31 to raise his average from .136 to .338.
