US Naval and Air Force Academies to Play at Historic Grayson Stadium

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The United States Naval Academy and the United States Air Force Academy's baseball teams will play a three-game series at Historic Grayson Stadium, the home of the Savannah Sand Gnats, this weekend, February 26-28.

General Admission tickets to each game will be just $3 per person; 50% of the admission proceeds from the games will be donated to the Fort Stewart / Hunter AAF Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department.

The Naval Academy enters the weekend's play at 4-0 following a victory Tuesday over Maryland Eastern Shore. Rightfielder Michael Speciale, who is hitting .400 (8 H/20 AB), leads the Midshipmen with eight hits, two home runs and 12 RBI. The senior is currently third all-time on Navy's career HR list. After graduation, his service assignment is Surface Warfare.

The Air Force Falcons are 0-4 after four road losses to Cal State Bakersfield to begin the season. CF Nathan Carter (.467/.529/.800 - AVG/OBP/SLG) leads the Falcons in all three major rate categories. The junior is tied for third on the Falcons all-time list with 16 triples, just four behind Vern Mulls for the top spot. Carter's older brother, Chris, is currently in spring training as a 1B/OF with the New York Mets, the Sand Gnats' parent club.
