Gwinnett Braves and Gwinnett Medical Center Host Step up to the Plate

Proceeds to Benefit the Miles & Lib Mason Children's Clinic

The Gwinnett Braves and Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation are taking a swing for kids in April with Step up to the Plate.

The community is invited suit up and knock some balls out of the park with a batting practice on Saturday, April 17 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $100 and include 10 swings on the field, a Gwinnett Braves hat and a commemorative t-shirt. The event is limited to 150 participants. Additional event activities include inflatables and games for children, visits by Chopper and tours of Coolray Field. "Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation is proud to sponsor this event which will help the Mason Children's Clinic serve the low income children in Gwinnett County. These funds will help supplement and expand the services to the clinic which sees over 100 children and their families a day," stated Jason C. Chandler, President of the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Miles & Lib Mason Children's Clinic and Atlanta Braves Foundation. The Miles and Lib Mason Children's Clinic is a community clinic of Gwinnett Medical Center providing pediatric care to Gwinnett's uninsured and underinsured children. The clinic is one of the top immunization providers in the state of Georgia and has been awarded the Walt Orenstein Champions for Immunization Award by the Georgia Department of Human Resources and Immunize Georgia.

The Gwinnett Braves are the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
