Intimidators to wear Pit Crew Jerseys to benefit Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (July 3, 2014) -- The Kannapolis Intimidators have teamed up with the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation for a special game on Saturday, July 12. The Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, will wear special racing pit crew uniforms for the game against the Asheville Tourists (Colorado Rockies) at 7:05 p.m. Fans will have an opportunity to bid on the jersey through a silent auction throughout the game, and all proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation. 

Following the game, fans with winning bids will be invited down onto the field to receive their jersey from the Intimidators players, who will autograph the game-worn uniforms.

About the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation

The mission of the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation is to support children battling cancer by funding programs that improve patients' quality of life, treatment programs that increase survivorship and pediatric medical research dedicated to finding a cure. In addition, the Foundation provides support to the Jeff Gordon's Children's Hospital in Concord, NC, which serves children in the community by providing a high level of primary and specialty care, regardless of their ability to pay.

About the Kannapolis Intimidators

The Kannapolis Intimidators are in the 20th season of professional baseball in Kannapolis and the team's 14th as the Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Since the team moved to Kannapolis in 1995, a total of 77 players that have played in Kannapolis have gone on to the Major Leagues.
