RubberDucks Statement Regarding Tonight's The Black Keys Rock 'n Bobble Giveaway

July 5, 2014

(AKRON, OHIO) July 5, 2014 - The Akron RubberDucks announced a change in procedure for tonight's scheduled The Black Keys Rock 'n Bobble giveaway. The RubberDucks were notified at 1 p.m. this afternoon of a shipping delay due to the Independence Day holiday weekend and as a result, will not have the giveaway in time for tonight's game.

Due to this delay, instead of the first 1,000 fans receiving The Black Keys Rock 'n Bobble upon entry at Canal Park, they will receive a numbered voucher attached to a game ticket to the Thursday, July 17 matchup vs. Erie SeaWolves (7:05 p.m.), where fans can pick up the Rock 'n Bobble on the concourse.

The Rock 'n Bobbles will be available only to the first 1,000 fans to tonight's game who claim a numbered voucher.

"We were hoping The Black Keys Rock 'n Bobbles made it on time for our fans to pick them up tonight," said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander. "Despite circumstances beyond our control, we will make every effort for our first 1,000 fans who claim a numbered voucher to get their giveaway in the easiest way possible. This includes a free game ticket to our next home game following the holiday weekend. In the meantime, fans will still be able to continue the holiday-weekend celebration with our great fireworks show set to the music of The Black Keys and an appearance by the fan-favorite, ZOOperstars!"

Should fans be unable to attend the game on Thursday, July 17 to exchange a numbered voucher, The Black Keys Rock 'n Bobble will be made available for pickup in the main office during normal business hours, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., starting Friday, July 18.

In addition to the Rock 'n Bobble giveaway, this evening's game, 7:05 p.m. vs. Bowie Baysox also features a fireworks show, presented by Pyrotechnico, set to music by The Black Keys as well as an appearance by the annual fan favorite, ZOOperstars!

As an added bonus, the RubberDucks have partnered with Live Nation Cleveland (http://www.livenation.com) to give out pairs of tickets throughout tonight's game to the Sept. 6 The Black Keys concert at Quicken Loans Arena.
