Cardinals Offer Free Admission To Bus Drivers

July 14, 2014

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - By now most people are familiar with the Johnson City Cardinals and their adventurous bus trip leaving Greeneville, TN this past Friday.

As reported on multiple outlets such as CBS Sports and Fox Sports Live, the Cardinals bus driver became agitated as the team was loading the bus, finally hitting a boiling point where he took the keys and stormed off into the night never to return. Johnson City's players, coaches and staff were left stranded in the parking lot of the Greeneville Astros for a short time until a replacement driver arrived to drive the team back to Johnson City.

As a result of this incident, the Johnson City Cardinals are looking to be proactive in relieving the stress many bus drivers accumulate over the years. Any person holding a CDL (Commercial Driver's License) that can legally drive a bus will receive a free ticket to any of this week's games, including games vs. Pulaski on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The Cardinals hope is that bringing out bus drivers for a great night at the ballpark free of charge will help prevent this sort of problem in the future.
