Two-run double sparks four-run inning against Nashville
May 28, 2006
Jeff Deardorff went 4-for-4 with four RBIs as Iowa edged visiting Nashville, 8-7, on Sunday.

The 27-year-old hit a two-run double to spark a four-run fourth inning and had RBI singles in the fifth and seventh.

After Deardorff's line drive in the seventh knotted the score, Augie Ojeda, who collected two RBIs, delivered a sacrifice fly off reliever Jason Kershner (3-1) to plate the go-ahead run.

Michael Restovich slammed a two-out solo homer -- his third in two games -- in the fifth for the Cubs (22-26), who are on a three-game winning streak.

Brad Nelson homered twice and drove in three runs and Mark Johnson hammered his first round-tripper of the season for the Sounds (27-23) in the fourth. Tony Gwynn also drove in a run in Nashville's third straight loss.

Reliever Mark Watson (3-0) retired four batters and walked one in the win. Kerry Ligtenberg gave up a hit and struck out one while retiring four batters to notch his second save.
