CHARLESTON, SC - On July 21, the Charleston RiverDogs will host a Monday matinee at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park against the Augusta GreenJackets at 12:05 pm. There will be a Business-Man's Special offering discounted tickets, and local businesses are invited to participate in a unique contest to attend the game as a group and still be covered at work.

The RiverDogs will hold a "Lend an Intern" contest and will send a RiverDogs intern to the winning company. The intern will work at its place of business while the employees come to the game. In addition to the contest, the Business-Man's Special covers $7 upper reserve tickets to the game so that fans can skip work and enjoy an afternoon of baseball.

"We always have a great group of interns that learn a great deal from the RiverDogs organization via a multitude of tasks throughout the season and this season is no exception," said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. "For this Monday, we can afford to lend an intern to substitute at a local business so that its employees can come to The Joe for the game.

"While our interns are not equipped to perform brain surgery or other serious tasks, they are very capable of working in office settings and with a smile and with a positive attitude as needed," Echols added. "On a serious note, the intern will be positioned to learn more about different occupations and the networking potential that surrounds it to help further his or her career. We think this is a 'win-win situation' for all involved."

To nominate your business for the "Lend an Intern" contest, visit the RiverDogs' Facebook page at www.facebook.com/chasriverdogs. Comment on our "Lend an Intern" post with reasons why the RiverDogs should pick your business and share the post on your Facebook page as well.

Submissions will be taken over the next few days, and a winner will be announced on Saturday.

Along with the Business-Man's Special for $7 upper reserve tickets, it is also Service Industry Day and Dollar Dogs and Beers Night at Riley Park. All service industry members will receive $5 general admission tickets to the game while the Ashley View Pub offers $1 hot dogs and $1 drafts courtesy of Coors and Magic 107.3.

Charleston's Monday matinee closes a seven-game RiverDogs homestand that starts on Tuesday, July 15. The opener is Harris Teeter 2-for-$20 Date Night from Nash FM and Choose Your Knight Night. The RiverDogs are also starting their HOPE Week 2014 initiative on Tuesday.
