BC Powder Hitter of the Week: Kes Carter

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Biscuits' center fielder, Kes Carter, has been selected as the BC Powder Hitter of the Week.

Carter earned his promotion to the Biscuits on June 25 from the High-A Charlotte Stone Crabs. After a slow start to his Double-A career, Carter found a groove offensively this past week. The former-1st round pick out of Western Kentucky hit .409 with seven RBI and five runs scored to lead the Biscuits. During the series in Pensacola, Carter launched his first home run at the double-A level.

Carter holds the distinction of being the highest draft pick ever to be selected out of Western Kentucky's baseball program. He is in his fourth season of professional baseball.
