Generals unveil 2015 Southern League Schedule

JACKSON, TENN. (JULY 18, 2014) - In conjunction with the Southern League, the Jackson Generals are happy to announce their schedule for the 2015 season. The Generals will open the 2015 campaign on the road in Jacksonville against the Suns, with Opening Day occurring on Thursday, April 9. The Generals open a season on the road in Jacksonville for the third time in six seasons. The home opener will be Wednesday, April 15 as the Generals open a 10-game homestand with the Mississippi Braves and Tennessee Smokies, April 15-24.

The 2015 season features 70 games at The Ballpark at Jackson and 70 games on the road during the 140-game regular season that encompasses 152 days. The Generals will play North Division rivals Montgomery and Chattanooga the most at 20 times each, 10 in each setting. The schedule features 9,653 miles of travel during the season, up from 8,994 in 2014. The lone 10-game road trip will be May 16-25 sending the Generals to play at the Tennessee Smokies and Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

The home schedule features 12 Thursday games, 12 Friday games and 10 Saturday games. The opening 10-game homestand is the longest of the season, but Jackson will have a seven-game homestand July 20-26 featuring two games with the Mississippi Braves and five games with the Montgomery Biscuits. The Generals will take on the newest team, Biloxi, in Jackson from May 11-15 and visit Biloxi, Misssissippi, July 28-August 1. Biloxi moves to the South Division next season and Montgomery will move to the North Division for the 2015 campaign.

Jackson will once again have an Independence Day Eve celebration on Friday, July 3 hosting the Mobile BayBears.

The Southern League teams take three days off for the All-Star Break, June 22-24. The 2015 Southern League All-Star Game takes place at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery. The second half of the season begins on the road with a five-game series at the Birmingham Barons.

The 2015 home schedule will conclude with a five-game set with Pensacola on August 28-September 1 and the season concludes with a five-game series at Chattanooga, September 3-7.
