Alex Muren promoted to Fort Myers

Kernels roster at 24 active players

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Alex Muren has been promoted to the Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.

Muren made 29 relief appearances for the Kernels this season, posting a 3-1 record, 2.89 ERA and one save. In 56 IP, he allowed 47 hits and 19 runs (18 earned) with eight walks and 44 strikeouts.

The Twins did not immediately announce a corresponding move. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players, one short the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with five players currently on the DL.

The Kernels begin a six game road trip on Wednesday, July 23rd at 7:05 pm against the Bowling Green Hot Rods, the Midwest League affiliate of the Tampa Rays. They return home to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, July 29th for a three game series against the Burlington Bees.
