Sarasota edges Jupiter

Paul Janish hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the 10th inning as Sarasota came back to defeat visiting Jupiter, 4-3, on Friday.

Marland Williams hit a leadoff single off Jarrett Santos (2-3) in the 10th and moved to third on a wild pitch and a sacrifice by Brandon Roberts. Drew Anderson was intentionally walked, setting up Janish's game winner.

With the Reds trailing, 3-1, in the seventh inning, Williams scored J.D. Roberts with a sacrifice fly. Cody Strait lifted a leadoff solo home run in the ninth off Harvey Garcia to force extra innings.

Brandon Roberts hit an RBI single in the fifth for the Reds' first run. The win snapped Sarasota's four-game losing streak.

Jim Abbot (2-0) earned the victory for the Reds (23-31), holding the Hammerheads (23-30) scoreless in the 10th.

Sarasota starter Camilo Vazquez gave up three runs -- two earned -- on six hits over seven innings. He fanned six and walked three.

Brett Carroll stole home in the third and Brian Cleveland lifted a two-run homer in the seventh for Jupiter.

Hammerheads starter Trevor Hutchinson allowed one run on four hits over six innings, striking out four and walking two.--Max Lance/MLB.com
